Laredo, Texas - Laredo Sector Border Patrol agents intercepted a human smuggling attempt at the immigration checkpoint on Interstate Highway 35 (IH-35) north of Laredo, Texas.

The incident occurred in the early morning of August 26, when agents encountered a blue tractor pulling two additional tractors in the primary inspection lane.  During the immigration inspection, the driver consented for a non-intrusive scan of the tractors.  A non-intrusive scan was performed on the tractors and agents discovered anomalies within the sleeper area of the second tractor being hauled.

Further inspection of the second tractor revealed four individuals hiding in the sleeper area.  Record checks on the four individuals determined they were nationals of Mexico, Dominican Republic, Guatemala and Ecuador in the country illegally.  None of the individuals required any medical attention. 

The individuals were placed under arrest, along with the driver, a United States citizen, to be processed accordingly.
